Louisiana GOP Chairman of the Rules Committee Alex Helwig sought to address the Convention in Shreveport, Louisiana to pass a motion to remove the sitting chairman who sought to use illegal means to prevent Ron Paul delegates from attending. In support of the acting chair, Louisiana State Troopers became involved and arrested Helwig…illegally. During his brief detention, Mr. Helwig suffered broken fingers and had to use a cane to walk. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?Realistically, police are not supposed to become politically involved, but clearly, that is what has transpired in the state of Louisiana yesterday. The last time police became political puppets in a Democracy, a World War was fought to protect Europe from Gestapo Stormtroopers.
Is this convention a sign of the times? Can we expect more police involvement as governmental agencies seek to protect the status quo at the expense of the taxpayers grandchildren? Clearly, these jack-booted thugs are ill-informed, but that did not save the Nazi’s at Nuremberg.
And consider this: Those in power should know by now that history is not changed through cooperation and peaceful elections. History is left to those who fight for a cause.
The only question is, how hard will some fight?
If those in power will wake up they may see that Ron Paul supporters are those individuals who have been disenfranchised from their own party for years. Those currently in power (especially in the GOP) need to get their proverbial heads out of their proverbial arses before they go so deep as to chew out their own tongues.
For those who believe that the Ron Paul revolution is something new, be warned, it is not. Defeat Paul today and his movement will only grow. People are sick of the lies spewed by politicians seeking only reelection. People are sick of the government taxing the middle class out of existence only to pander to the uber-rich banking establishment. People are sick of skyrocketing fuel prices controlled by those with enough wealth to choke an elephant and people are sick of the politicians who continually work to keep it so. People are sick of hiring politicans who abuse the office. And people are sick of police abuses of power. People are just sick…
Police today have a difficult time enough that they do not need to add to their difficulties by becoming wrongly involved in politics. In addition, do these police not know that they can (and likely will) be held civilly liable—they can be sued for false arrest and with a plaintiff standing before a jury with injuries because he was acting within his political rights, there are not too many juries who will not award substantial damages. A plea to police everywhere: Do not make the job of your brothers any harder because you do not agree with someone politically. The job is hard enough. Stay neutral when wearing the badge.
Finally, hip, hip, hurrah! Ron Paul took Louisiana! Good job, my friends.
Now, if you would like to see the video footage of this Nazi-like behavior, including the part where Ron Paul supporters turn their backs to the “acting”—now fired, chairman, watch the video below.
Might made an attempt, but Right won the day.
Why is this NOT national news? Only one answer I can think of…it happened to someone the media hates…why does the media hate Ron Paul supporters so much? This campaign only brings up more disturbing issues with each passing day. In the next video, the duly elected chairman is assaulted by Louisiana State Troopers on order of the ousted chairman. If this kind of abuse can happen to duly elected officials, what can happen to you and I? This needs to go viral folks or we ALL lose liberty.
