I believe the second greatest question in the world is “Why?” But the most important is “Why Not?” The first question leads one to discover truth, which is vital to any endeavor in life, be it football or business, love or politics, faith or family. However, the second question spurs us to action and as most know, faith without action is dead.

I do my writing in Lubbock, Texas because it is a great place to raise a family and the business economy here is vibrant and growing. It is growing because business owners here understand what it takes to build a successful business and are willing to put in the effort required to be successful.
In addition, Lubbock is a community of faith…not just religious faith, but faith in oneself. Folks here believe that they can do whatever they set their minds to and they make things happen. This is a large reason why the Lubbock, Texas economy is so vibrant.
I want my child to grow up in Lubbock, in this kind of environment for I believe it will make him into the kind of man he has the potential to become.
That is also why I decided to take my Writing Consultant business from the online world into the traditional business realm here in Lubbock.
Web-based/Online versus Traditional Consultants
I have many friends who have advised me that online is the only way to go, that running a traditional consulting business is neither cost-effective, nor advantageous in this day and age.
I disagree and they live elsewhere, in locales where there is perhaps less of a can-do spirit. Also, I want to give back to my city.
Lubbock, Texas just kind of gets to you. I have only lived here a few years, but there is just something about this city that makes a person want to contribute fully. Hence, I offer my consulting services here locally to any who would like to improve and grow their web site.
In time, I believe that others will want to do the same in their cities and I will expand Oakes Writing Consultants nationwide, as qualified writing representatives are trained and ready.
